The Flood
So there I was right, trying to find a place to hang my towel, when Camaron says to me "Dude, it's hailing outside!" So we ran to the window to see it hail (which isn't too exciting to me) but it was rain really hard, water was running down the streets it looked like the street was moving like a river. Then we went up stairs to the street level and took turns running outside while the lightening was flashing and thunder was rolling. I was the last to run out and when I came back in drenched, the boys were running down the stairs yelling stuff. When I got down there we were shown a huge puddle that was rapidly growing closer to our bedrooms. It was gushing out of a door that went to the outside and the drain had clogged so the water rose and started coming inside (remember we're in a basement) so after playing in the water for about 30 seconds, I started strategizing and deligating (my special gift). We moved everything out of the way of the water, made a dam so the water wouldn't keep moving, and then we grabbed brooms and buckets and starts scooping water into a bucket which seemed pointless. I realized the door wasn't gushing water anymore so I opened it and unclogged the drain. For the next hour we swept water outside to that drain. The carpet is ruined and the downstairs stinks, my arm is sore and abs ache. But we worked as a team and got the job done. Its a good thing we were there and caught it when we did because we weren't going to be there. It coulda been really bad. Thank you Lord for putting us in the right place in the right time and giving our team an opportunity to grow and bond. But Lord...no more flooding again please, it really stinks and some of us smell like mildew. Amen haha
